Type of motor :
NEVER USE A MOTOR POWER HP HIGHER THAN INDICATED ON THE MANUFACTURER'S I.D. PLATE AS THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL.
It is recommended that you choose a motor suitable for your principal boating activites. The recommended and maximum powers are given in the technical specifications.
Propeller :
Your motor may come equipped with a "standard" propeller. Ask your BOMBARD dealer to assist you in choosing the optimum propeller for your principal use.
Installing the motor :

- Install the motor along the centreline of the boat, in the middle of the tightening plate (1) (see diagram)
- Fully tighten the brackets (2) by hand and check that they are still properly tightened after 15 minutes of running
- Secure the motor to the loop (4) on the motor tightening plate (1) with a safety cable (3).
Adjustments :
These adjustments must be performed when running. Check that the motor is at 90 degrees to the water when running at high speed. Adjust the position of the motor if necessary as shown on the diagram below.
Motor position

THE MOTOR POSITION CAN BE READJUSTED WHEN RUNNING DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER CONDITIONS (DIRECTION AND STRENGTH OF WIND, AND SEA STATE). CHECK THAT THE LOAD IS EVENLY DISTRIBUTED BEFORE ADJUSTING THE MOTOR TRIM.

Motor height
The motor is mounted directly on the transom. For some types of motor, a shim is required to ensure the correct height:
- Motor adjusted too high = cavitation
- Motor adjusted too low = splashes
MAKE SURE THAT THE MOTOR POSITION IS CORRECT BEFORE BOLTING IT IN PLACE. THE MOTOR MUST BE BOLTED TO THE TRANSOM BY YOUR Zodiac® DEALER (RECOMMENDED FROM 30 H.P. AND UP).
